Thoughts of Spring

Mr. Brown Socks took today off and we are going to sit down and get our seed order off to Gurney's. That's one thing we like to do together ~~ Gardening. He is really into vegetable gardening while I like to add several herbs and flowers. Of course by late April we will be visiting the nurseries choosing our tomato and pepper plants. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is so cold here in the Midwest that we can only dream of digging in the dirt for a couple more months. I do have plans to start some seedlings in egg cartons to get an earlier start on some things that take a long time.
Cardinal Climber is one of those. They take a really long time to get started. I LOVE how they take over and trail around a trellis! Are you familiar with this beauty? Once it gets going (well after the 4th of July where I live) it grows several inches (it seems) every day. The hummingbirds are attracted to it because of it's red tubular flowers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This picture was taken from our garden a couple of summers ago, showing my cardinal climber. A wind storm took this whole thing down in late September. The weight caused my trellis to fall apart. I was just sick when the whole thing was destroyed.
I'm glad I at least got a picture of it in all it's glory.
WE HAVE A GUEST
Another plate has been set
~~~~~~~~
My daughter asked if we could watch Boo while she is out of town for the weekend. It's easy to leave a cat alone for a couple of days, but we love having Boo around and Jamie doesn't have to worry about her being lonely this way.

Does she look nervous to you??
Of course Magnolia isn't absolutely positive she wants to share the limelight.
They are entertained by one another and do fine together but don't snuggle up like I wish they would.
Is it just me, or are beautiful together??

Donna...aren't these two kitties cute together!!!

Girl, we just lost our little Remmy yesterday...he was the cutest little black and white kitty, we let him outside to play and he got hit by a car...I'm just sick about it...he was an inside cat, just thought he'd like to go out for a couple of hours...I feel so guilty!!!

Do you think Spring will ever get here? Hehe!!! Your vine covered trellis was gorgeous...so sorry that you lost it! Are you planning another one?

Warmest wishes...
Chari

Hi Donna...My DH has been out for the past few days amending the soil for his veggie garden...it didn't do well last year and what little bit of produce it made, the @#%& squirrels raided it...I wish I could find a failsafe method to get rid of them! Both of your kitties are so pretty! Years ago I had both a black & white one & a calico... ;-) Bo

What beautiful kitties. I adore cats but our youngest daughter and hubby are very allergic to them. . . so, we have a dog! I dearly love him too, but do miss not having a cat!

Blessings,

Sher

Ohhh! Love the kitties! In all my years, I've probbly had close to 20 cats and have only had 2 pairs that would snuggle. My Baby Kitty and Isabellla are big snugglers. He bathes her and thinks he's her daddy! Love it that you and your DH garden together! Have a great weekend...Debbie

Hi Donna! I purchased some see packets last week because I wanted the packages for a decoupage project! Never even occurred to me to actually plant them!lol But now you've inspired me to give it a try! Red Cardinal I've never heard of but will definitely look for!!! Boo looks like he isn't in any hurry to leave! The two of them checkin each other out is adorable! Have a great Sunday - Sincerely, Jeannette

Hi Donna,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I get excited everytime I see someone new coming by. I thought I would suggest going to see Gran Torino, thought my hubby might like it. I usually drag him to chick flicks so I guess I can give in on this one! I love your blog and all your decorating. I hope to get to come back and visit more later. It is getting late here and I think I'm headed to bed now.

Nice to meet you and hope to see you lots more!
Vicki

Donna!!! Hi there! Thanks for signing up on my blog. :) I'm going to add you to my Blog Roll. I laughed out loud when I read "Mr. Brown Socks." Those cats are so cute, they look like they belong togather. I really like your blog...anything with "thrift finds" is okay in my book. ;)
