Holidays have passed but the Memories will live Forever!

Little did I know the last time I posted it would be my last entry for a couple of weeks!  Yesterday I started the task of taking down Christmas.  Some of you look forward to getting everything down and cleaned the day after Christmas, but not me!

My mother comes home with me for close to a week.  To me this is a most enjoyable part of the holidays.  We play cards and games…shop the after Christmas sales and enjoy eating Christmas breads and drinking coffee out of Christmas mugs.  It is sad for me when it comes to an end for another year.

We had a most unusual Christmas.  We drove to my Mom’s house on icy roads a couple of days before Christmas and then we had a huge blizzard roar through on Christmas Day.  We had planned on traveling home to spend Christmas at my daughter’s but while we were deciding if we should travel, they closed the interstate for two days!  Snowed in with my mom, husband, two of my daughters, a boyfriend and a fiancé, we made the best of it.  We taught some how to play a card game called Pitch.  The young ones ventured out to buy a couple of new board games for us to play.  The men shoveled snow and threw the Frisbee for the dog.  Mom and I cooked and looked out the window at the Winter Wonderland before us.

We got about 4 here and it was a major deal! lol...I'm glad you made the best of everything...our plans changed a little too, but we still had a good Christmas. I will be going to market on the 15th through the 18th. I was wondering if you were going. We need to meet up this time...I'll be in cash n carry most of the time. Let me know if you want to meet somewhere... I can give you my phone# too. Have a great week!! Kristen

The twelve days of Christmas aren't over yet, are they? My Christmas stuff will all stay up until the weekend and I will be sad to put if all away. I love how festive it all makes the house feel. How nice for you to have your mom with you for a visit. Happy New Year Donna!

That was a nice homey story you have shared--I enjoyed it! We played a lot of games over the holidays and there is so much fun to be had in the family when we do this!
