One Day At A Time

DSCN1354

My Dear Mother had a fall….

It was a bad fall.  She was with Mr. Brown Socks and me visiting a relative when she missed a step.

She broke both her hip and her collar bone.  She is 84 and was totally independent before.  They put a new metal ball in her hip and hopefully she will move to the PT/OT wing today to begin aggressive therapy.

She is a strong woman and I feel confident that she will get through this.  I will be back and forth between her town and my town, so I won’t be blogging much for awhile. My sister lives in the same town as she.  It is so very nice to have a sister for many, many reasons and especially when going through something like this.

Mom's birthday 2009 004

Please pray for this lady named Dorothy.

Thank You and I’ll catch up when I can.

Donna, saying a prayer for your lovely mother. My dad is 84, I know that a fall would do him in. Glad your mom is strong. Hugs, Marla

Oh, I am so sorry to read this! I hope your mom's rehab goes well, and she'll soon be back to living independently. Yes, sisters (and brothers) are a major blessing -- I don't know what I'd do without mine, as our parents get older and more frail.

Prayers for your mom. I hate to hear when someone this age breaks a hip. It is so hard for them to recover. I knew someone a few years ago who fell and broke a hip and didn't know it for a week and it got worse so she went to the doctor.

I hope everything goes well for your dear Mother. Falling is not good at any age but especially at our age. It's frightening.
Of course we will all be keeping Dorothy in our thoughts and praying she gets better. I is something everyone who is older dreads.
:) You are such a good person...

Hi Donna! I'm just trying to catch up on visits and was sorry to see this post! I hope by now 3 weeks later your Mom is recovering and feeling better. So much stress for all of you!!! I think any of us with aging parents can relate to what you've been through and are going through! Hope you stay well during this exhausting time! Sincerely, Jeannette
