A Thrifty Tablescape!

Tablescape Thurs

Hello there!  I’m excited to join in with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to share my recent tablescape showing many thrifting finds.  Below are some of my favorite “new” dishes!  I found these at a thrift shop ~~ a stack of about 14 and every once in awhile I find another here and there. I believe I have 19 of them.  They are so pretty with their robin’s egg blue band.  They are dazzled with a gold rim and swirled gold pattern encircling a creamy white center.

About a month ago my friend Susan found this little teapot which came with six of these cups.  The set came with a coffee pot and platter (I think) that she wanted.  She thought I might like using these little cups for spring faux arrangements.  No way!  They were too cute and could be used in a table setting.  Does anyone know exactly what the intent of these would be?

Turning them upside down, they make the sweetest little egg cups!

I thought about using them for wine.

I added these crisp little napkins  found at Target on their after Easter clearance last year.  There were four patterns… a nest, a chick, a flower and a bunny.

Since I only had four, I used these patterned napkins at each end of the table.  They blended well and the pattern seemed to add interest.

This little white rabbit was a perfect fit under my cloche.  I have four teal chargers so anchored my centerpiece using one of those.  I tucked a grass mat and more eggs inside.

I may have shown you these candle sticks another time.  Who would have given these away?  They were found at my Mom’s church action just sitting there with NO ONE bidding on them!  I got them for a song!

I have used them many times

Adding reindeer moss and little marbled eggs gave the table more texture and color.

This little dish was a thrift find.  It looked so sweet just holding more eggs.

Dishes and Linens.  What could be a more fun hobby?

Thanks for joining me today. I’m going over to see all the other tablescapes!

See you there!

Love those dishes, Donna! I like the blue and the pattern. Great find on the napkins ~ I love the one with the nest. I wonder if they might have them this year, too. {I've got to make a trip to Target so I must remember to look}.

Donna, my Mom had those exact blue dishes. We used them for all our holidays. I will have to look around and see if there are any still there that would go with the rest of your set. Beautiful post!

Donna, your table looks so pretty. Love the color of your wonderful china. I think those are egg cups. I'm not sure if some people eat raw eggs, or what, but I've been told that you remove the egg, turn the cup upside down, and crack the egg into the larger side of the cup. Loving those napkins. laurie

Donna...you have such a way with dishes and table tops! I love this entire tablescape. I wished I'd have seen those adorable napkins at Target...so perfect! I've also got to keep an eye out for some cloches, they are such a nice touch. Another fabulous job girl! (can I line you up to do the tables at my daughter's weddings?!...in about 6 years! :))

Donna, I love this table! Those blue plates are gorgeous and those bunny napkins are so sweet. Your cloches with the nests, bunnies, and eggs are adorable- and even though you missed the party- I'm sure plenty of people will see them here. :-)
Don't you just love when you get a bargain? Those candlesticks are so pretty, with their hanging prisms. So glad you were able to stop by. I am so remiss in visiting- seems there is not enough time in the day to do everything I want to do for ME! Have a good weekend!
hugs, Sue

What a lovely, soft pastel table setting...I'm glad I got to see it, especially those egg cups. I NEED some!!

Yes, the peonie photos in my header are from last year. Just yesterday, I put the circular cages around the plants as they are shooting up very quickly. It won't be too long before we'll have some more to pick. I want to get a white one soon to mix with all my pink.

Hi Donna, I missed this cute tablescape! Love the pretty napkins, birds and rabbits...and the placemats are beautiful!

Yes, I missed you at market! There wasn't alot going on, we mainly went for the sample sales. You should have been there though, Allstate was was selling everything in their windows at really good prices. I guess you couldn't have fit it on a plane though...Sherry and I bought alot of stuff, we went back three times because we didn't want to miss out on anything...lol! I will probably go in June too. I hope you are doing well!! Since I was out of town and the weather is so nice I haven't been on the computer as much. Take care, Kristen
