Spring in the Form of Salt and Pepper Shakers

Good Morning Dear Bloggers, This morning I thought it would be fun to join in with Tam and the others to share with Three or More Tuesday. I didn't realize it but it seems I'm starting to acquire a salt and pepper shaker collection! Funny because my mother has a variety of old salt and pepper shakers she has had for years and years. From time to time when I am visiting with her I'll ask to get her collection out and we both enjoy looking through each and every one. Sometimes when we are antiquing together we will find a set for sale that she has in her collection. Of course we check the price right away to see just how valueable they are!
My first selection is my most recent ~~ a pair of birds ~~.
I just found these ironically while antiquing with my mother in February. They were in a clearance area for $1 for the pair.
Aren't they sweet?

Next we have a pair of shiny bunnies that add a nice sparkle to my Easter table. I found these in the gift shop at the Biltmore in North Carolina a few years back.

And last of all ~ a sweet bird hiding under a leaf (?) I guess it's a leaf...lol! Anyway, she was a thrift store find and I couldn't pass her up. Of course the bird section is for salt and the leaf is for pepper.

I have many more salt and pepper shakers, but thought I would share my three spring ones today.
Visit Tam at Gypsy Corner to see what others have to show us!

Good Morning! Thanks for the visit and comment, you are too sweet!

My mother had a s/p shaker collection at one time, but became more work for her when it came time to clean them all. So my sister and I divided them up and we each have our own collection.

So nice to meet you and look forward to visiting more in the future. I will add your lovely blog to my list.

Have a wonderful day~

Hi Donna...

Girl, your salt & pepper shakers are darling...I love those bunnies! I love the story you told about sitting with your mom and going through her collection...that's so sweet!!!

My friend, I have been following your design plans for your dining room for some time now...and I didn't realize that you had finally painted, ect. I just spent the last few minutes oooohing and aaaahing over your fabulous dining room! Donna...that red is stunning!!! What a transformation!!! And your new drapes are sooooo very beautiful!!! I think that all of your planning, color combinations, etc...really paid off! This room looks so rich and elegant...regal! I love how your hutch looks against the red wall...it just looks so much prettier than when it was against the white...ohhh my, well I know that I'm going on and on but my friend, it's magnificent, REALLY!!! I love all of your wall art that you've used...you talked about maybe trying to lighten it up but I think it looks perfect!!! And you're right, your client's floral arrangement looks fabulous on the table...I think you need to make you one...hehe!!! Is is all "growing on you" yet? I know that when I went from an all white dining room to my red and olive...it was soooo different, but I've never regreted the change! Congratulations my friend...absolutely fabulous transformation!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari
PS...again, those drapes turned out fabulous! I love your new dining room!!!

I love your little bird salt and pepper shakers. They are so sweet.
Thanks so much for you kind words on my blog. I've been thinking about my sister and missing her terribly, so your dream was a gift. I lost my sister when she was only twenty-eight years old. There is a post about her in my archives because she died right around Valentine's Day. I too am a believer and I know that one day I will see her again, but after living more than half of my life without her, I still miss her especially for some reason, in the Spring. Thanks again.

Oh Donna...you've displayed these S&P shakers so sweetly...Maybe you can answer a question for me...my DH & I don't agree on this...I say the shaker with more holes is for pepper...he says they're for salt.
What do you say? ;-) Bo

Hey Donna. I love the S&P shakers. My grandmother collected S&P shakers for a long time. I think Mother now has them somewhere. I need to ask her about them and maybe get them out to look at.
