We are turning the calendar over to February, the month of RED hearts.
For as long as I can remember, red has always been my very favorite color in the whole wide world. As a young girl, I remember having a pair of RED fuzzy wuzzy slippers. To be honest, I think I still have them ….somewhere! My parents built a house while I was still in high school and I picked out red carpet for my bedroom. The color has always made me happy.
Lately I’ve been thinking about fabric choices for my kitchen windows and the thought of red toile came to mind. When I started looking around at first my kitchen ~~~~~
and then on into the adjoining rooms, I realized that I have a lot of ORANGE!
Here is my dining room wall color. It’s called
Cajun Red. Notice I chose a color that still had the word “RED” in it!
Hard to see but the draperies have an orange swirl mixed in with a heavy dose of brown and a lot of gold.
These are fabric swatches that turned into pillows and chair covers in my hearth room and kitchen.
On into the living room are more accessories in orange.
I still see hues of red playing off as oranges.
Red, my friend, I will always have you in my heart.
No doubt I will come back to you some day.
Do you find that you are using orange more than you might realize?
Thanks for your visit today,
Donna

I've always loved red too. Your dining room is fabulous! Hope you have a red hot week!
I don't think I've ever seen those tall windows and drapes.....so pretty,.....and i have a lot of red, too, Miss Donna.......but not too, too much.

Beautiful home! It was such fun peeking inside. I love red and my dining room curtains and accessories are red. I like the color orange but don't have any in my house.
Hi Donna, Looks like orange is really coming in. I noticed it alot at Market. I really like orange. Most of the reds in my house have a bit of an orange tint to them...including my sofas and curtains. I really don't have true red...it's more rust or brick red in person. I don't know if I would want alot of true orange but I wouldn't mind touches here and there. I love the cajun red in your dining room. Very pretty!! Where did you get those cute chairs with the coffee cups?? Those are so cute!!
I love orange! Like you, I noticed that there is a lot of orange in my home. Many of my paintings have shades of orange...from bold cadmium orange to terra cotta.
I do like that cajun red you used. Who makes it?

I have a few touches of orange in my home but when I really look around, I see more burnt red. I love seeing pictures of your pretty home!
Donna your house always looks so beautiful. How I would love to see it IRL because I know it looks even more beautiful standing in the middle of it.
You won't believe this, but I swear I have always associated orange with your decorating style.
Do you remember the name of your granite? I swear in that one picture it looks exactly like mine. Napoli is the name of mine. There are several that look similar to it. One particular one that is very similar. The name escapes me but it starts with a C. :)
I love orange. I am thinking about adding it to my guest bedroom. Red is also everywhere in my home. It just makes me feel happy. Have a great day! You have a lovely home.
Red is my favoirite color too!
I do love the warmth of orange as well. You have some beautiful items around your home Donna! I still adore your gorgeous dining room colors. ~WOW!
Thank you entering my giveaway sweet friend!
Hi Donna, Your home is just stunning - such fun to see all the colorful touches you have added. We have a lot of dark royal blue and orange would be great with it; however, we have the world's longest window seat and I had a burgundy seat cushion made for it, so for now burgundy is our accent color. I had already been thinking about when we move, I can finally add the paprika color!!!
I have been noticing a lot of orange these days too. Your cajun red dining room is gorgeous. -Delores
Oh red.........one peak at my blog will show you it's indeed in every room of my house. However, you've forced me to look, and I notice that I have 2 paintings with orange flowers, and two different florals that are orange poppies. Hmmm, I never realized that. Isn't that funny?
I love that floral arrangement in your header. If you tire of it, send it on to KY!
Orange was very big in the 1970's. We called them "earth tones" and I loved them. I like the reds that go with pinks and rose. Your colors are beautiful. As a matter of fact, your home is lovely! The orange you are using is a deep rich orange. I love it! It's striking!
I could have used you when trying to decide on colors. All done though.
In a couple of years I will be all out of style but that never really mattered to me. Like you, I will always love red.
Thanks for sharing the info about your Cajun Red paint. You are so sweet.
See you soon...

I have red something in every room in my home. Love that color. It's the happiest color on earth.
I really like a touch of red in most of my spaces too! Although, I was at JoAnn's last night and saw the prettiest little orange "container" thing - I was so very close to getting it - and still just might go back and get it!
Love all of your red too!
Happy Wednesday!
I too adore red. I can only wear deep cranberry colors but so love a good fire engine hue. :)
Red is THE color. I love it. Thanks for the tour.
What a wonderful, warm color! I have orange in my guest room (which was originally intented for my son.) I'm going to change it, because I want something a little more soothing for guests, but I love the color.
Red is my favorite color too. I have touches(or more if 2 red couches qualify)of it in every room !
Thanks for your sweet compliments Donna!!
Your home is so warm and inviting! Surprisingly red and orange do tend to blend well together! My mom is really into red and in the fall her pumkins and orange leaves look gorgeous together. And a friend of mine has alot of red in her living room and in her attached kitchen she incorporated pumpkin orange and it looks great!
Thanks for the peak inside your home!
Best wishes,
Tammy
I LOVE the Cajun Red walls! Beautiful photos!
