Keeping Fall in my Heart

As I work hard to create many Christmas arrangements for my show next week, I continue to love the reminders of Fall.

My home is filling up with red berries, evergreen garlands and other signs of Christmas but there is nothing that gives me a more comforting contentment than the browns, oranges and deep reds of autumn.

I found a pair of these mugs just to enjoy for the month of November.

Pretty plates and bronzed pumpkins speak of late autumn before winter really sets in.

Thanksgiving 2009

A little glitz is appreciated during November as well, don’t you think?

And lastly, one of my favorite bowls I purchased at Nell Hills a few years back.

It seems fallish right now, however I do enjoy it year round.

Everything is looking so pretty.
I don't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving so I haven't started bringing down things from the attic as yet. Looking forward to it, tho.

Very pretty! I have the same pilgrim salt and pepper. I just adore them like they were part of the family. :)

Love your mug and dishes! I think I like the simplicity of a lot of the tables I'm seeing for Thanksgiving since Christmas always has so much more going on. It's nice to have that lull before the storm!

I really like the colors of fall as well. Everything looks so ready for Thanksgiving! Do you live close to Nell Hill's. I grew up in Atchison so I get to that store often.

Simply beautiful. Love the pheasant and love that bowl. Nell Hills . . . hmmmm . . . your middle America must be close to my part of the prairie!

It's my FAVORITE retail store!

Lovely, simply, lovely.

I am in love with your turkey mugs and turkey plates. You know that I have a turkey fetish, don't you? I would snap those mugs up in a heart beat if I saw them in a store around here.

Good luck with your Christmas show preparations. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations for this year.

Morning Donna! Oh I love that pheasant!!!! and how lucky you are to have been able to purchase something at Nell Hills!(or was it an on-line purchase?) Anyway I love the bowl no matter what season. I read your previous post and I agree it is very difficult to get into the spirit of Christmas decorating but I know you'll manage!lol Looking forward to your arrangements and I must go back to Michaels now for one of those giant cornucopia's I saw there! Have a great weekend - Sincerely, Jeannette

Oh everything looks just gorgeous. I love the pretty apothecary jars and cloch that you used for the centerpieces. I hope you will join us for the "Holiday Cloche Party" on Dec. 4th. You can find all the details on my sidebar. Hope to see you there. Hugs, Marty

Hi , again--just to let you know that the wedding video on my nannykim blog was of my good friend's daughter. The dad has written quite a few historical books and he is a civil war buff. He and she also danced to Dixie which was very appropriate!

Lovely fall things - really love the pheasant and the black and white bowl.
It seems as though we rush Christmas more and more each here. BUT, if we want the season to last a long time, we have to start early right!! When it's over, it's over for me. I start taking down decorations the day after Christmas!

Thanks for coming by. Come back later tonight and check out the grand opening and give-away.
