Topiaries

                      topiaries 001

Do you love them?

         {why does it look crooked in the picture?  It doesn’t in person ~~ really!}

I think most people do.  To me they are just such a classic look and so versatile, working strongly in so many areas like mantles, dressers, and sofa tables.  These sold out quickly at my spring show and I just received a new shipment.  This time I’m grabbing one for myself before they are gone again.  ;)

There are many versions of this time tested form and in my experience most people like them with the exception of men….isn’t that interesting?PICT0042

Just ordered some of these trees today to possibly place in a bank entrance ~~ two of them flanking the entry doors.  The one pictured is an old, rather sorry one of mine.

I have a new award and a new friend!  Peggy at Peg’s Life in the Button Jar has given me this sweet award:

Go over and say hi to Peggy.  She does the most amazing things with a pair of scissors.  You have GOT to see her talents with papercutting.  I had no idea people did such things ~~~ Her TALENT is something else!

This is such a fun part of blogging ~~ meeting new friends and learning all the fun projects that others enjoy doing.

and my project for the day is

Bank

Til next time   ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

For some reason I have never had luck with topiaries. I wonder if I watered them too much or something? Blogging friends are a special group, I've discovered. Makes for great friends!

And you do have a lovely blog! Congrats Donna! I love topiaries! Yours are so nice! I love your project! I've been out working in the yard this afternoon trying to plant some before the next rain! We've had a wet spring! But that's a good thing...the last couple of years have been very dry! You take care girlfriend! God Bless you today! Lauralu :)

Lovely topiaries! Was in Old Towne Alexandria on Saturday night for dinner with some friends and many of the old row homes boasted topiaries out front. So classy! :)

Hi Donna:
Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment. I love to meet new people. I read your profile and got a kick out of it when you said it's okay to have faux flowers. I am so glad cause I have them all over my house. lol. I've always liked them, even when everyone says they aren't in style any more. I just don't like dusting them too much.
I like your blog.

Hi Donna!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. How anyone can actually "like" ironing is beyond me, lol. My "stepwife" loves ironing too. She says it's "therapeutic". That's a bit how I feel about making my bed and arranging pillows and such.
Well, I enjoyed my visit and want to say congrats on your award! Good for you! I hope you get to plant your flowers soon. I'd love to see some good rain around here, but I fear our rainy season (such as it is) is over :0(.
I hope you have a fantastic day!

Morning Donna! I love topiaries! I tried to clip two bushes outside my front entrance into topiaries (of course I destroyed them and last weekend they were removed!lol) I best stick to the "faux" ones!!! This one is adorable (crooked and all - just kidding)! I must check out Peg's site as I want to learn paper cutting! I'm sure I'll get some inspiration! Have a great week - Jeannette

I love them, the lady down the street has one that looks like a cactus but it is an evergreen.

Donna, I love topiaries, and you have shown some great ones on here! Congratulations on your award. You deserve it.
I'm so sorry you have trouble commenting on my blog. Nobody else has said anything about it, but if you can't comment, you can't tell me about it! I wonder if there's something I can do about it. laurie
