I found it......
and I love it! It takes me away to decide on the exact look I want for draperies or anything for that matter, but this is the style of draperies I want for my dining room. I was lounging with my friends in the hotel room in Dallas pouring over magazines.
These pictures are from the current issue of Southern Lady magazine. As soon as I saw them, I knew it was the look I wanted...a little formal, but friendly at the same time.
The pleats are called goblet pleats.
A perfect name for a dining room, don't you think? ;)
These are the bare windows that are screaming out to be covered. I have the silouettes for privacy, but we've lived in our house long enough that it's time for more than privacy. I want them "dressed"!
Here are the fabrics. The brown with gold swirl will be the draperies.
The gold fabric on the left with the fun little glistening specks will be for a little swag in the center. It is called moondust and I thought it was beyond fun!
If I use the red/orange fabric on the right, it will be for colored buttons at the baes of the goblet pleat.
Another view of the fabric
Red dining rooms are always, always gorgeous, but wondering "when " they might go out of vogue concerned me. I was considering painting the room more of a golden color.

Hi Donna,
Love the drapes... they will be lovely in your dining room.
The market was good, very crowded as usual, but I did over hear a lot of the reps complaining that sales were down. I wondered whether minimums would be lowered this year to increase sales, however, I think the opposite was the case. Minimums at some companies seemed higher than ever. I, myself, did some major damage to help the economy along :) I had ordered most of my seasonal flowers before the show, so I didn't buy many florals. I am in the process of changing the image of my store a bit as we plan our move to the new location, so I did experiment with some new lines. Now we wait for the UPS truck to arrive...... and the billls! Yikes!

I don't blame you darling. Although I have a great cutting table and machines.. sometimes it's always best to put it in hands that do that type work everyday. They can whip it out and not have the frustrations I would have.. lol.. Can't wait to see them.. hugs ~lynne~
Ohhh! Beautiful fabrics and I love the name of your paint color. If it's cajun, it's got to be good!...Debbie
Looks lovely! I can't wait to see the finished product.
Beautiful choice of fabrics...and the style of draperies are so elegant...perfect for a dining room...or any room! ;-) Bo
Hi Donna, :)
The deep Gold paint in our dining room is called "Chicory" and it came from Lowes. I bought it about 3 years ago when we first built. I was asked quite frequently about our paint colors when I posted on RMS. I just don't think they carry it anymore though. At least that's what I was told by other RMS'ers when they looked for it. I haven't actually looked myself though.
Good luck with your dining room decorating.
It's really going to be gorgeous I'm sure.
I did some rearranging and cleaning up on my blog yesterday and noticed you weren't a follower of mine. It ended up not letting me add you at the bottom of my blog list. I really use that feature to keep up with everyone. Since we talk quite a bit do you mind becoming one? I would really appreciate it. I hope I don't sound silly.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
~Melissa :)
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love your fabric choices - very rich and warm. I think you would like Svelte Sage by SW but it definitely has darkened my dining room up. It is a very grey green {which is what I wanted} but going from white walls for 2 years to this has been an adjustment. Still, I have gotten TONS of compliments on it and I do really really love it. I definitely think it's worth buying a quart to test it out. FYI - I got the color swatch card from SW then had it color matched at Home Depot because the SW store was a considerable distance away and I didn't want to have to go there if I needed more paint, plus it's cheaper at HD. And the color matching worked perfectly - turned out beautifully!

I absolutely agree. I have been with red for ..always. Everything seems to go with it. Deep rich red is what use. :) It is going to be ..JUST plain beautiful. You won't be sorry. :)

Okay...first of all. You have to tell me where I can get my very own bird tray for The Vintage Nest. I am crazy about that!!!! And girl....you go right ahead and paint that dining room red. (Love, love love your columns). I painted my dining room red 9 yrs. ago and have never tired of it. I love it. The color was called Egyptian Red. And with your permission I would love to add your blog to my "take my away" blogs to don't miss. Hope you are having a super great day. ~ Lynn
